Product Description
STERIS Basil 9600 Bedding Dispenser
The Basil 9600 Bedding Dispenser is a semi-automated unit designed to dispense bedding into two rodent cages simultaneously as they are placed on the work surface.
FEATURES:Â
Control panel includes an ON/OFF toggle switch, a conveyor AUTO/OFF switch for the bedding transfer system, indicator lights and a 0 to 1 second automatic timer for precise metering and distribution of bedding. Cages placed on the work surface actuate a mechanical bar which signals a valve to release bedding for the preset length of time. Flow adjustment knob allows operator to increase/decrease bedding flow.
Work surface is stainless-steel, 3/8" (10 mm) diameter welded rod grid. Grid permits dumping of bagged bedding through it and into the lower (storage) bin. Any spillage falls through the grid into the lower bin, and automatically returns to the upper (dispensing) hopper. Grid is removable for cleaning or maintenance. Upper hopper has a removable cover for cleaning or maintenance.Â
Bedding transfer system automatically moves bedding from the lower bin to the upper hopper. Continuous shovel-type conveyor is driven by a 1 HP (746 W) ac motor with a gear reducer and safety clutch.Â
Bedding Dispenser handles most chip-type, free flowing solid, and recycled paper bedding (refer to equipment specifications for a list of approved beddings). System includes dust filter that fits under the upper hopper.Â
The upper hopper provides even, unimpeded dispensing of bedding. The exhaust system includes a 1/2 HP (373 W) motor, exhaust fan and dust collection bag. Fan ON/OFF switch is mounted on the control panel. The Bedding Dispenser is built to seismic building code requirements.
ACCESSORY
Air compressor supplies the air required for the bedding release valve. Compressor requires a separate 120 V, 60 Hz, 1-Phase, 2-wire, 15 Amp electrical supply lineÂ
CONSTRUCTIONÂ
All structural support is stainless steel. The lower bin and upper hopper are 14-gauge stainless steel. Bedding transfer system includes low-friction UHMW guides and wear pads for smooth, quiet travel throughout the dispensing cycle. Four leveling legs are included.Â
CUSTOMER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR COMPLIANCE WITH APPLICABLE LOCAL AND NATIONAL CODES ANDÂ REGULATIONS.
