Product Description
The Rigaku Ultima III enables a variety of applications including in-plane and normal geometry phase identification, quantitative analysis, lattice parameter refinement, crystallite size, structure refinement, density, roughness and multilayer thicknesses (from reflectivity geometries), and depth-controlled phase identification.
Detection consists of a computer-controlled scintillation counter or a fast semiconductor-based position sensitive detector.
In addition to standard Bragg geometries, the system is capable of thin film analysis, grazing incidence diffraction, pole figure analysis, transmissive and reflective small-angle x-ray scattering, and reciprocal space mapping. It also has a 1500°C hot stage.
Rigaku XRD units came from SD School of Mines and Technology, who acquired, in working condition. The D/Max-2200 was utilized by SDSM&T so came with the PC and software (provided).
The D/Max-2200 model was manufactured in 2002. All optics, board, and stages can be translated to the Ultima III; i.e., stages, optics and tubes are interchangeable 4 Soller slit options, automated variable slits, Schultz slit, Cu tube = one year old Zero background plates, Si standards. A wealth of sample plates for all holders. Most recent version of JADE (According to Al at Rigaku, this is the operating software, they don’t use the Rigaku operating software). Current software = most recent update to DMAX v2.2.x.x (L-D128) = Rigaku processing software “No texture or stress softwares included, though the measurements are possible the stages/optics included” Repair History scintillation detector, beam shutter, two control boards, and light bulbs for safety on light. Extras: 3-axis cradle/stage, spinning/rotating stage, standard stage, monochromator, automated slits. Other Extra Cu tube with 200 hours on it.
Suggest a service tech to come and do setup. Power supply works, but it is not solid state.
SA-HFM3 model needs leveling casters. Floor bolts came bent (?). Has a solid state power supply Age = perhaps 10-15 years old “All optics, board, and stages can be translated to the Ultima-3; i.e., stages, optics and tubes are interchangeable” Basic optics, standard stage No Soller slit options, appears to have automated variable slits Cu tube Sample holders & standards. A wealth of sample plates for all holders. No computer No software No software Repair History Unknown Extras 6-sample holder with 15 zero background plates and 11 plates Other Extra Cu tube with 200 hours on it, fits both units.
Due to photo limits the SA-HFM3 model pictures are combined but can be shared upon request.
